Like to Read?
We are looking for people willing to take turns at reading the
Scriptures on Sundays. If you have e-mail, the reading can be sent
to you ahead of time, so you can read it over. You would be
required to read one lesson every 5 - 6 weeks or so. We would love
to have you join in this ministry. Please Contact Patti Hoyt or
Rob Marsh.
God calls us to faithfulness
by Ana Watts
Imagine an imp and a rascal. (Accent the playful connotations of these
words and erase the wicked ones.) Add twinkling eyes and the nimble body
of a sprite (again, think of the benign definition). Now you have a
picture of Archbishop Douglas Hambidge, the energetic octogenarian who
spent most of last week in this diocese talking to members of diocesan
council, diocesan clergy, synod office staff, myriad parish
representatives from around the diocese, and all those who gathered for
the three services at Christ Church Cathedral on Sunday — about
stewardship. He was careful to accentuate the fulfilling part of that
word’s definition and erase the uncomfortable part, the “they always
want more money” part.
